Elizabeth ducked behind the sofa as more shells hit the room.
Outside the porthole, the night was dark, she could only see flames and explosions, she had no way of knowing who was attacking them.
Another explosion rocked the ship, and Elizabeth got up, and through the smoke she saw Sao Feng.
He was lying on the ground with a long, sharp splinter lodged in his chest.
"Shao Feng?" she yelled.
"Here." He gasped, "Come here, please."
He fumbled around his neck, tearing off the knotted pendant he always wore.
"It's Captain's Day," he whispered. "Take it, and you'll be free! Take it! I must pass it on to the next brother lord."
"Me?" Elizabeth said aloud, quite surprised.
"You go to Shipwreck Bay in my place," he said.
"Captain!" a strange voice shouted in the corridor.
Tai Huang broke through the door, and the sound of fighting was not far behind him.
"The ship is occupied!" Tai Huang yelled, "We can't..." He stopped suddenly and saw Elizabeth leaning over Sao Feng.
"Calypso." Xiao Feng called softly, his eyes were closed tightly, and he passed out because of the pain and pain.
Elizabeth paused, not knowing what to do or say next.
Finally, she stood up and turned to look at Tae-hwang with a serious expression.
"What did he tell you?" asked the Pirate King's lieutenant.
She held up the knot pendant in her hand.
"He wants me to be captain."
......
The new captain of the "Empress" stepped onto the deck. Dead bodies lay motionless all over the place, and the groans of wounded soldiers mingled in the smoky air.
Tai Huang followed closely behind her.
When Elizabeth finally saw the ship that had attacked them, her brow furrowed.
That's the Flying Dutchman.
The barnacle-encrusted crew swarmed onto the Empress, surrounded and shackled the terrified sailors.
Elizabeth did not see Davy Jones in the crowd, but suddenly, the smoke cleared and she saw another man she knew striding through the smoke.
That man was none other than Admiral James Norrington—a man to whom she had been engaged but never wanted to marry.
She knew that he had stolen Davy Jones' heart and given it to Lord Beckett.
In exchange, he regained his post in the Royal Navy and became a respectable officer again.
But from her point of view, he had become less respectable by doing it.
"James?" she asked cautiously.
When Norrington saw her, his eyes widened. On the ship of the Pirate King of Singapore, Elizabeth was definitely not among the people he was looking for.
"Elizabeth!" he cried, embracing her delightedly.
"I hear you're dead!" he said, grabbing Elizabeth by the shoulders and looking her up and down.
He couldn't believe his eyes, but there was no denying that she was indeed Elizabeth Swan.
No matter what Davy Jones had said to Governor Swann, she was alive and well.
Just then Davy Jones himself came on deck and began to inspect a row of trembling sailors.
His tentacles twitched and twisted as he gazed at them.
"Which of you is the captain?" he cried.
Tai Huang pointed to Elizabeth, even if he heard that he was the captain, Norrington would not be more surprised than now.
Elizabeth Swan, the captain of a Chinese warship?is it possible?
Although facing the hateful Jones, Elizabeth still stood tall and straight.
Her eyes were stern, showing nothing of what Norrington thought she was experiencing now.
There is no doubt that the woman standing in front of him is no longer the elegant governor's daughter, she is a pirate captain through and through.
"Hold the ship," said Norrington, turning his attention back to his own crew. "Put these sailors in cells."
"You heard the Admiral!" Davy Jones shouted.
"The captain can use my cabin," added Norrington, bowing deeply to Elizabeth.
"No, thank you, sir." Elizabeth said proudly, "I'd rather be with my crew."
She then followed her pirate brethren as they were being led into the Flying Dutchman's cell when Norrington stopped Elizabeth with earnest eyes.
"Elizabeth, I don't know," she said.
"Know what?" she replied scornfully. "Which side did you take? Now he should know."
In the bilge of the Flying Dutchman, where the crew of the Empress were kept in separate cells, Elizabeth flinched when the cell door clanged shut behind her as she stepped into the bleak place.
She turned to look at the sailor who had escorted her in—a strange-looking man with rough, coral-like skin.
Suddenly, he remembered one thing. Will's father——"Boottop" Bill was a crew member on the Flying Dutchman.
If she could find him, he might be able to help them escape.
"Is it the top of the boot?" she asked the sailor who had locked her up.
The person just giggled and walked away, she was either not a boot upper or wouldn't help, and not far down the aisle a sailor covered in barnacles was scrubbing the floor.
Elizabeth leaned her face against the railing and cried softly.
"Boot upper? Bill Turner?"
