"Captain!" he yelled.
Too late.
With a jet of sea water, the black figure rushed out of the water.
First, the gray mast rose into the air, then saw the ship's side and wooden hull covered with coral and shells, and a carved, winged female skeleton stood at the bow.
It's something from the darkest parts of nightmares, something pirates talk about in whispered, frightened tones.
This is the Flying Dutchman.
As soon as the ship emerged from the water the muzzles were opened, and with a loud explosion the shells blazed up the side of the pirate ship.
The pirates on the three ships rushed into position and tried to reload and return fire, but the Flying Dutchman was too fast, too close, and too powerful.
The attack ended after a few minutes.
Smoke hung over the burning wreck, and the bodies of dead pirates floated beside scattered vats and charred logs.
The Flying Dutchman sailed past with majesty, unharmed ease, and was unstoppable.
The pirate who was also doomed on the lookout was right, and on the far horizon, there was a ship.
It was a ship of the East India Trading Company—the Endeavor.
Lord Cutler Beckett, Admiral James Norrington and Governor Swann were on board.
In the Dutchman's cabin, Davy Jones sits in front of his organ, his scaly skin gleaming in the dim light, while the octopus tentacles that hang from his face bounce back and forth over the keys Walking away gently, the whole room is filled with a sad tone.
With a sigh, he raised a tentacle on his right hand to wipe his eyes, only to find a teardrop.
Sadness and affection...that can only mean one thing.
He looked up, scowling.
Above the cabin, Admiral Norrington and Lord Beckett were now aboard with a detachment of marines.
Soldiers look terrified on the deck of the Flying Dutchman.
Their fears are not without reason.
Covered in barnacles and scales, the crew of the Dutchman were more monsters than men.
"Calm down, guys," said Norrington, noticing the uneasiness. "We're standing on an ocean-going ship, that's all. Keep calm, like a navy."
While he was lecturing, several men lifted a box over the side of the ship and onto the deck of the Dutchman.
This box is what they want to guard here - the undead box.
It contained the beating heart of Davy Jones.
Lord Beckett stood on the deck, smiling.
In order to be able to stand here now and let Jones take orders from him, he has waited and planned for a long time.
Beckett knew that Davy Jones commanded the fastest ship on the seas, and that the crew of the Dutchman were destined to be under Jones' control for 100 years.
Both physically and mentally!

"Calm down, guys," said Norrington, noticing the uneasiness. "We're standing on an ocean-going ship, that's all. Keep calm, like a navy."

Davy Jones himself is immortal, and since his lover broke his heart, he plucked out that troublesome organ and put it in a dead man's chest and buried it on Cruise Island.
No one can hurt him unless he has this heart.
This is precisely why Lord Beckett has put so much effort into finding the heart.
First, he arrested Elizabeth Swan, a blacksmith named Will Turner and daughter of the Governor of Harbor Royal.
It was their big day, and in exchange for their freedom, he sent Will to get back the compass that belonged to that annoying Captain Jack Sparrow.
This particular compass is not meant to point north, but to what your heart desires most.
Once Beckett had the compass, he believed it would lead him directly to the dead chest.
While things didn't quite go according to Beckett's plan, it turned out very much in his favor.
Will, Elizabeth and Jack find their way to Cruise Island before Beckett does.
But Norrington, who had let the hanged pirate escape and was discharged from the Navy, then joined Sparrow's fleet, slipped in and stole Davy Jones' heart.
He took the heart back to Port Royal and gave it to Beckett.
Norrington was immediately reinstated and promoted to admiral.
So, although Beckett didn't get the compass, he now got something more valuable and powerful -- the heart of Davy Jones, and he also took full control of the Flying Dutchman.
With the power of this ship, Beckett and the East India Trading Company could rule the entire sea.
Even better, the only ship capable of rivaling the Dutchman, the Black Pearl, is also dragged into the ocean floor by Jones' own devilish pet sea monster.
"Go away, all of you, take that with you!" Jones roared, coming up from the cabin.
Shaking with rage, he walked straight toward Norrington, but kept a safe distance from the chest.
The closer this heart was to him, the stronger the feeling within him.
