"That's seaweed," pointed out a sailor.
"Seaweed might be a signal, too," argued the quartermaster.
Elisabeth lost all patience, and taking the cashier by the shoulders to turn him away, she said in a low voice:
"What's that over there?"
The words "Tortuga" written in lamp oil burned on the deck.
The terrified quartermaster asked, "Is this going to send us there?"
Elizabeth's frustration was on the point of exploding, when Captain Bellamy spoke, and said:
"Guys, how about we change the course? To be cautious, we should still divert to Tortuga Island!"
The crew shouted their approval.
Elizabeth pressed her sailor cap to her face and smiled.
Her plan was successful.
Now, all she can do is wait.
......
Elizabeth is heading to Tortuga to find Will, but Will is far from Tortuga, and he and Jack Sparrow are heading inland.
Through a thick fog, the two boats left the Black Pearl and rowed towards the mouth of the Pantanu River.
Barbosa, Will and Pantel lead the way, followed by Jack and Rajetti.
As they paddle through the tangled forest, Will quietly asks Gibbs a question everyone wants to know.
"What is it that scares Jack like this?"
Barbosa sneered: "Jack is not afraid of anyone but Davy Jones. He thinks he is safe only on land. If he goes to sea, he will be taken away."
"Abducted by Davy Jones?" Will asked suspiciously.
Jack never seemed to be afraid of anyone.
"Well, I'll tell you. If you believe such things, Davy Jones has a monster at his command, a terrible thing from the depths."
"Its huge tentacles can suck your face off completely, and then drag the whole ship into extreme darkness, this sea monster..." Barbossa's tone was full when he mentioned the name of this demon A little different, "It is said that the stench in its breath..."
He tilted his head, repeated the sentence, and continued rowing.
Will glances back at Jack, who is nervously flicking a thorn in his finger.
Will said: "Never thought that Jack would be the kind of person who is afraid of death."
"Yeah, but when it comes to Jones, it's not a question of death, it's a punishment." Barbosa replied, "Think of the worst fate you can imagine for yourself, endlessly.. ...that's what awaits you in Davy Jones' grave under the sea."
For a moment, all on board were silent, meditating on what Barbossa had said.
"Which key would save him from that fate?" Will finally asked.
"This is exactly the question Jack wants to answer now." Barbosa glanced at Jack, "I really want to, so much that I want to ask her."
"Her?" Will said nervously.
Barbossa nodded: "Yes."
Fireflies flickered in the damp, heavy air as the boat sailed into the calm waters of a misty tributary.
The skiff was moored beside a rope ladder that hung from a wooden shack that sprawled high in a tall tree.
A lantern hung at the door of the wooden house, casting a bleak gleam on the trembling pirates.
They have arrived, but now the question is, where?
"Don't worry, everybody," said Jack, trying to sound relaxed.
He grabbed the ladder: "I'll take care of it. Tia Dalma and I are old acquaintances. We are almost inseparable. We used to be, um, inseparable."
"I'll show you the back," Will said.
"I'm worried about the front," Jack muttered under his breath.
Taking a last nervous look around, Jack squeezed into the shack, with the rest of the crew close behind.
Everyone's eyes haven't quite adapted to the dim light in the room, and they only see all kinds of strange animals in bottles and jars.
Some were stuffed into pots and hung on the beams of the house, while others were swimming in the muddy water inside the pots.
Just overhead, dangled an elderly, dusty-gray crocodile.
Rajetti noticed a jar of eyeballs in one corner, and he put a hand over his own eye socket, which was stuffed with wooden eyeballs.
Sitting in the shadows at the table was Tia Dalma, a mysterious figure with an eye sharper than any pirate's.
When she raised her head suddenly, she was fiddling with a few crab claws in her hand.
"Jack Sparrow." Tia stood up, "I knew that one day, the wind would blow you back to me."
Her eyes moved away from Jack and settled on Will.
Tia looked at Will and smiled: "You have a little taste of fate, Will Turner."
She said and moved closer.
"You know me?" Will asked confused.
"You want to know me." She looked Will in the eyes and answered in riddle-like language.
"I have no way of knowing." Jack said, walking towards Tia Dalma, leading her back to the table, "We came here for a request."
The pirates gathered around the table, and Tia Dalma drew Will closer to her.
"Begging doesn't sound like Jack Sparrow."
"It's not so much for me, it's better for William." Jack replied calmly, "In this way he can get my help."
Tia Dalma nodded: "Now that sounds like Jack Sparrow. What can I do for you? You know I'm getting paid."
